The Modularization Lead/Manager is a senior project delivery and technical leadership role responsible for developing, governing, and implementing modular execution strategies across heavy industrial projects. The role ensures modularization is embedded early in project development and consistently applied through engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, and construction using established methodologies.
The Modularization Lead works collaboratively with project leadership, engineering disciplines, layout and module design specialists, construction teams, and logistics providers to deliver safe, cost effective, and schedule efficient modular solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of modular execution strategies across industrial facilities.
- Ensure modularization is considered and embedded early in projects, using standardized and proven methodologies.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to identify optimal modular opportunities within project facilities.
- Support and guide engineering teams during conceptual, basic, and detailed design phases to enable modular execution.
- Collaborate with layout and module design leads to ensure modular concepts are technically sound and execution‑ready.
- Coordinate modularization activities across engineering, fabrication, logistics, and construction phases.
- Work closely with project teams to deploy modularization concepts into actionable execution plans.
- Develop and review modular execution schedules (Level 3) aligned with overall project schedules.
- Provide input into capital cost estimates, with a strong understanding of TIC development, including direct costs, indirects, and contractor indirects.
- Apply and leverage design review tools (e.g., Navisworks, SmartPlant Review, or equivalent) to support modular planning and coordination.
- Support and, where required, monitor module yard selection and global module supplier capabilities and performance.
- Identify, assess, and solve complex logistical challenges related to module transportation and installation.
- Apply working knowledge of module transportation equipment and ocean going transport vessels, including their limitations and advantages.
- Develop module yard bid packages, including the preparation and coordination of associated technical documentation, scope definitions, and execution requirements.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of existing module yards globally, including their capabilities, limitations, regional strengths, fabrication capacities, and execution experience.
- Provide expert input into module yard selection strategies based on project requirements, logistics constraints, schedule, cost, and risk considerations
- Support the Construction Manager during module yard execution, including coordination of fabrication, assembly, and construction readiness activities at the module yard
- Prepare clear, structured reports, technical documents, and proposals related to modular execution.
- Develop and deliver presentations to clients, project teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Promote innovation by developing creative, practical modular construction solutions.
- Stay informed of industry developments, innovations, and emerging trends in modularization.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy industrial projects with significant modular execution content.
- Strong overall understanding of project execution workflows across engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, and construction.
- Proven experience developing and implementing modular execution strategies.
- Demonstrated understanding of capital cost estimating methodologies, including TIC build ups.
- Practical experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams during modularization planning and execution.
- Experience coordinating modularization activities across multiple project phases.
- Working knowledge of global module yards and modular supply chains.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex logistics and transportation challenges associated with large modules.
- Strong understanding of discipline interfaces and engineering systems coordination.
- Experience on both greenfield and brownfield projects, including constructability considerations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
