About the Role
We are hiring Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians for a well-established organization that provides equipment services to the mining, construction, and infrastructure sectors across Canada.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled technicians who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to safe and efficient operations in both local and remote environments.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $49 – $55/hour + applicable premiums
Depending on schedule and assignment, total earnings can reach approximately $59+/hour with additional premiums and allowances.
Work Schedules
- 5x2 (Local): Standard Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
- 7x7 (Local): 7 consecutive days of 12-hour shifts followed by 7 days off (compressed work week premium applicable)
- 14x14 (Remote): 14 days on, 14 days off with 12-hour shifts (includes travel, accommodations, and premiums)
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic components on heavy-duty equipment
- Perform scheduled maintenance, rebuilds, and equipment commissioning
- Troubleshoot faults using both digital diagnostic tools and hands-on techniques
- Work independently on-site, including remote and outdoor environments
- Adhere to all safety procedures and actively support a strong safety culture
- Handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs when required
Required Qualifications
- Certified Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Flexibility to travel and work various schedules
Preferred Experience
- Red Seal certification (considered an asset)
- Background in mining, construction, or heavy equipment service operations
- Ability to work independently in field-based roles
- Strong teamwork and safety-oriented mindset
