Heavy Equipment Technician

We are currently recruiting Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians on behalf of a leading heavy equipment solutions provider supporting the mining, construction, and infrastructure industries. This organization is recognized for delivering high-quality equipment services, maintenance, and technical support across major industrial operations in Canada.

Base Wage: $54.48 per hour + premiums*
Schedule: Various schedules are currently available:
• 5x2 (local): Work Monday to Friday for 8 hours per day. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule with evenings and weekends free.
• 7x7 (local): Work 7 days on for 12 hours per day, then enjoy 7 days off. Includes eligibility for a compressed work week premium.*
• 14x14 (remote): Work 14 days on for 12 hours per day, then enjoy 14 days off. Includes eligibility for a compressed work week premium*, along with travel and accommodations.
*Premiums include market and compressed work week on 7x7 and 14x14 schedules bringing rate to approximately $60.16 per hour. Additional assignment-based premiums and allowances may apply.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy construction or mining equipment
• Perform equipment overhauls, preventative maintenance, and new equipment builds
• Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools
• Work independently in field environments, including remote locations and varying weather conditions
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices
• Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory
• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification
• Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel
Preferred
• Experience working with Komatsu equipment or similar heavy equipment brands
• Interprovincial Red Seal certification
• Experience working in mining, construction, or heavy equipment service environments
• Ability to work independently in field conditions
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork skills
