Through this partnership, we are seeking a Structural Designer to join Hatch’s Project Delivery Group (PDG)—a dynamic and globally integrated team delivering world-class projects. The PDG combines deep expertise in sustainable studies, asset development.

Summary

At Hatch, the Structural Designer is part of an engineering team providing engineering services to industrial or hydropower and dam projects. The role is responsible for the production of structural 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Structural Designer. The successful candidate will participate in a wide range of projects covering the design of reinforced concrete and structural steel for industrial structures, hydropower plants, and dam structures. Activities include structural steel and concrete modeling and drafting for both front end planning and the detailed engineering phase for multi-discipline projects.

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings and models using 2D and 3D CAD software as required
• Perform conceptual layout work
• Develop design details
• Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline, and with other disciplines
• Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models
• Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities
• Assist the design with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule
• Incorporate safety in design.

Qualifications and Experience

• Technical school diploma specializing in civil/structural design
• Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages
• Experience with Microstation OpenBuildings software would be considered an asset
• Experience with Revit and Autocad would be considered an asset
• Experience with AVEVA would be considered an asset
• Structural design experience on hydropower and dam structures would be considered an asset
• Experience within a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment would be considered an asset
